Default Post pix too :)

I'm getting the GC+Koni yellows + icebox/header installed this week; already have the OEM kit and I had the exhaust on ever since I bought the car. I'll post pics once I get the chance.

Volk R. LE-37's.. I have an order on the next shipment coming from Japan...supposed to take another 2 weeks but I think they're worth the wait. Can't wait to see how they look on a black teg...not sure if anyone else has done this wheel/color combination.

Shingoblade-GSR: You spend all that cash on expensive comptech I/H/E, and don't plan to get a highflow cat?

The exhaust system works together as a package, and you have a bottleneck at your cat. Look into getting a carsound, they are not that expensive, $200 shipped.

I'm assuming there are some high-flow cats that still pass California emissions laws/tests?

yeah thats why i shelled out so much for the system; i had already gotten the comptech exhaust and didn't want to mix it up by getting AEM CAI + OBX header (does OBX even make a header?).

I know the stock cat is a bottleneck and I was considering getting a new cat (after my next paycheck...current setup cost me )

but!

comptech did a dyno run on a gsr with its intake/header/exhaust, measured max 20 hp gain to the wheels. As far as i know the rest of the car was stock, so I'm still be happy knowing these mods should add this much power.

Plus I'm poor and I can't shell out another 200 bux for a high flow cat. The straw of hay that broke the camel's back is a good way to put it.

Had I gotten the CTR intake cam + integra type-R exhaust cam + valve springs, I would most definitely have gotten a high flow cat. But on a stock engine, it should be "satisfactory" for the time being

1998 Milano Red GS-R

OEM Bodykit - By far the best looking body kit out there for the Integra IMO...I am glad I got one...they are hard to find now!

RS Akimoto Intake - Short ram...VERY whiney...it was installed when I bought the car so I wasn't able to compare it to stock.

9005 Sylvania Silverstar Conversion - Freakin' awesome! If you don't have HID's or you still have 9006 stock bulbs...you are missing out

Clear Corners - Some people like em'...some people don't...I do

Upcoming Mods:

Exhaust - GReddy SP or Apexi WS

Shocks/Springs - Comptech w/ Koni Yellows

From what I have read, people have passed the cali emissions tests with carsounds cats.

Its hard to trust dynos directly from manufactures. Its very easy to manipulate results... but if it is true, and the i/h/e alone gave it 20whp, imagine what an unbottlenecked exhaust would result in.
Because currently you have a 2.25" exhaust setup, but a 2" cat. Obviously its hard to get opimal exhaust flow with this bottleneck.

So, basicly I am just recommending that people should look into getting a highflow cat before diving into cams. (the expense of cams, cam gears, springs, retainers, tuning, etc is tons more than a cat)

I'd rather not say... :squint: at least not until I find out the source of my valvetrain clacking and potentially swap up to better components.

Hey dubster, 7 lb flywheel? How do you like it? Haven't seen too many people running a flywheel under 9 lbs.

StyleTeg, now I can see where you're coming from, hehe. It would be dumb of me to invest in cams w/out taking care of the bottleneck. I also left out adjustable cam gears (skunk2?) But thanks for the advice on the carsound, I'll def. look into it once I get more $$$
