You can get a nicely built up LSVTEC lonblock for around $3000 to $4000 depending on what parts you put in it. I would try to spend $3 grand or so then use the other half of your budget on getting the chassis in shape with new wheels, tires, shocks, springs, swaybars, brake rotors, pads, etc.

If it was me I would already have a b18c5 in that bad boy.
But yes, if it was me I'd go with an engine swap of some sort, then with your old engine you'd have try and part it out or sell it as a whole for as much as you can get for it, which won't be much, that is why I say part it out. But use that money you get from parting it or selling it and put that money in with the 2 grand you already have left over after the engine swap and buy your self some sort of turbo kit. Thats what'd I'd do.

Not trying to be a wet blanket, but since you're 18/19 now, you should probably save that money for university. $6000 is alot of money to be dumped into a used car. Or you could save that money until you get enough to buy a faster/nicer car like a 300ZX/328is/Eclipse/ etc.

But with 6000 you could easily swap your engine with a GSR or ITR b18 engine

your right 6,000 is a lot to invest in a used car at that younge age. The thing is those other cars you mentioned he wouldn't be able to get a decent one for that price and he would probably have to put a few thousand into them to get them into good running condition since they all have reliablity problems except for the 328i but that will be much more than 6,000.

I would go for the engine swap, especially if the rest of the car is in good condition

I am an 18 year old as well and I dump all of my money into my car. haha I know this is not a good thing, but yea just letting you know if you dump that 6g in your car your not alone on the putting all your money into a car at a young age. Although I do plan on hopefully buying my real project car after college. Hopefully like an older TT Supra or something. But yea thats just wishes and dreams right now. But lets hope they come true.

the car is perfect, the only thing wrong with it is it isnt equipped with vtec power...the b18c5 was what i have decided to go with..already has 16 inch rota c8s (gunmetal) coilovers(skunk2) hks hiper exhaust, and aem cold air intake..thanks for the input level_7 but i got a g2 teg because thats my favorite car....yes the ones you mentioned are nice, but nothing compares to an integra..in the price range i want to spend anyways..
