If I was to put a test pipe on my 97 gsr would it sound alot louder? I have a silencer in my tanabe exhaust. Also would my check engine light come on due to the fact that there is more air going through?

 

Putting a test pipe onto your exhaust will definitely make it sounds louder. And there is a big possibility that your check might go on due to the fact that OBDII ECUs are more sensitive to mods.

 

Why would you put on a test pipe if you have your silencer in? Your silencer reduces your air flow and taking it out I assume would make a bigger difference then putting in a test pipe. I have a buddy with a SC civic and he put in a test pipe and it reduced his performance so I'm a little wheery on the whole idea in the first place anyways.
