which turbo kit sounds best
I cant believe the things people come up with?
First off, theyre all "street legal" except in California. As long as you pass emissions, its legal. No one else has to worry about CARB and visual inspections, etc, except the poor CA folks.
Secondly, I didnt know the Greddy kit was the only one on the market you could hook up a boost controller to and play with boost settings? ANY turbo system will allow for increased boost.
Thirdly, ANY turbo kit will give you power. Greddy, Drag, etc....its not like because the Greddy kit has a smaller TD05 that it will only net you 200whp. Any of the above kits will give the average "IwannafrontmountIC" stunna MORE than enough potential to know what to do with. Never mind to spend the cash to do it.
Fourthly...Drag comes with the bling bling piping, whats better than that?
Sorry to take an attitude, but Im seeing more and more regurgitated uneducated opinions pop up...if youre not sure about something or are just spewing what youve heard or what youve read in SCC, at least be sure to inform everyone that thats the case.

dont yell at me man. I know they all give power I jsut want to know about the kits. i hear revhard comes with cheap piping and drag has crappy wastegates or something, thats what i want to know, the quality of each kit.
Im not yelling at you...you didnt make a ridiculous response. Im not yelling at anyone in particular.
Drag kits come with Deltagates, which, for a lot of people, dont cause any problems whatsoever. Some on the other hand have had boost spiking issues, which isnt something you want to risk if its at all common with a wastegate. Most everyone who sells Drag kits also offer a Tial WG upgrade for another $175 or so. Earlier Drag kits also had a problem with cracking, but that issue has been resolved a long time ago, and any cracked manifold Im sure would be replaced. The design of the Drag manifolds are a bit questionable as well, as some people spike even with the Tial WG.
Rev Hard kits are a great option...their manifolds are terrific for what you pay. It doesnt come with a filter for the turbo, but thats no big deal.
MaxRev kits are nice...stainless manifold, stainless DP & Garret Turbo, but the piping is shady.
Any of the above are good options...I kind of dig RevHard due to the amount of options you can add onto the kit from RH...they make some killer manifolds!

what about greddy they come with chip and everything? I was gonna have the engine tuned by a hondata tuner over in eastern ma if I got everything installed. The car is used for daily driving and autocross.
hahaha yeah i realized that.... well autocross is in spring/early summer, and turbo wouldn't be going in till mid.late summer so i can get plenty in. turboing and autocross wouldn't go well....... unless.....:dunno:
ive done a lot of research on turbo's and revhard is top of the line, period. afterhourz (found on www.groupbuycenter.com and www.afterhourzracing.com) has great customer service, fast free shipping and the best prices on these kits. take a look.
I dont know about "top of the line...period." Different kits have their advantages. And Drag4 has been in the works for a while now and has been promised to drop jaws.
The Greddy "blue box" is worthless. Especially if youre going Hondata, forget about it. That would make it LESS attractive since youll be paying for something youre not going to use.

thanks man. I am glad to know its a good quality kit.
newgsrdriver is right though where he says different kits have different purposes.
