Default Check out my vavle cover

Today i stripped all the paint off my vavle cover on my 91' LS and touched it up a bit... tell me what ya guys think... i think i might paint behind the H emblem black.. Cya (Hopefully the pic works)

god i just realized how many times i misspelled valve... haha my fingers arent working.. been sanding that dammm thing too much

isn't there a reason those things are power coated? call me crazy, but if there's any paint on there, that cover is going to go to sh!t really fast.

well ... if you have any gouges or deep scratches, those will fill up first with crap. in my accord v6, it's next to impossible to keep the valve cover clean. i used metal polish to get it kind of silver again, but after time, it just yellows up. on top of it, there is a power coat on mine, since yours is exposed steel, yet alone stripped steel, it'll corrode ... if you degrease your engine bay with Simple Green, make sure NOT to get any on the exposed steel ... it'll stain it for sure.

ah i thought you meant it would crack or something... i was thinking about painting the rest of it red and then the honda logos white or something

just as long as you get something over the bare steel, then you're all good.

heh aight.. im glad ya told me... i dont wanna sand that bizatch again it took me like 4 hours to do the whole thing... they put that paint on there too damnn good! heh I was gonna paint it red originally but then i thought id see how it looked bare... but any ways thanks again

I've seen them polished and then sealed with a high temp clear. But I question how well a clear would stick vs. a normal undercoat Your cover look's nice btw.

thanks) yeah im gonna go to an import shop tomorrow and see if they've got any advice... cause i would really like to keep that look. Ill tell ya what i find out tomorrow.
