Default hydro lock?

Last night I was leaving a new years party and I hit a huge puddle, I saw it coming so i stuck it in neutral, however the car sort of bogged out. I have a bypass valve though. Do you guys think I should get it checked out?

I would say if your car is still running than your o.k. but I would change all the oil and put some type of additive in their to take care of any water that might have gotten in there. You have to watch out for blown rods when this happens but the car usually doesn't start when this happens.

is it better to put the car in neutral or to keep it in gear wit the foot on the gas slightly when goin through a puddle?...i have an aem cai on my 01 GSR and i went through many flooded roads here in dallas a couple days ago. i was goin about 15-20 mph through these puddles...tryin to avoid the deepest part ...i was so afraid that it would hydrolock because 2 months ago, my friend lost his baby through a flooded road also...

When you press on the gas even the slightest bit you will cause more of a current through the intake so why would you go throught the puddle with a little gas on when this would increase the chance of hydrolock?

i came close to hydrolocking my Teg many times. If the car is still running you should be fine. I thought I'd mess up my plugs but when I changed them out they looked fine. If its a small amount of water it wont hurt the car because the heat from the engine will evaporate off. But a large amount is not good
