Default 94 Integra Lx Maintence Question

I have a 1994 Acura Integra Lx. I purchased it 2nd hand off Craigslist about 2yrs ago and it came from a very loving non abusive home.

It is now at about 193,000 miles. I have done the oil changes regularly. Replaced the master brake cylinder. Brakes, Brake Pads...Thermostat and recently replaced all the Spark Plugs. Pulled out the air filter and put in a Cold Air Intake.

I don't want to have any un-expected repairs come up anytime soon. Is there anything else I should check up on so that I know she will continue to be good to me?

It's about $200 in parts. It's not hard, but it's IMPORTANT to get everything right.

Any shop will charge $500 to $900 for a timing belt, tensionor and water pump change.

And remember, for that stuff, OEM parts ONLY.

As if today has been a good day...when I try and shift gears it seems quite difficult...I dont' know if the tranny is working with me today or not. I took a peek under the hood..found the 4 place that you can put in brake fluid...wiper fluid....etc..

Where is the place to look to check the transmission fluid...

it is a Acura Car with a Honda Engine...this is the non V-tec model;

Thanks

If it's a stick, you have to get underneath it and pull the fill plug.

Yes, if it's low on fluid it will make shifting difficult

could be your synchros also that cause the difficult shifting. is it a certain gear that has difficulty shifting into? or you could be looking at a worn clutch too. Also look into new shifter bushings (i prefer Prothane).

Other maintenance you could look into are checking for oil leaks around the valve cover (i.e.cam seals, valve cover gasket) and head gasket.

FYI: Acura is Honda...Acura Franchise only exist in North America . Also you have a LS not Lx which comes with a b18b

The Verdict is in...Brought it by a place here in San Jose. They have been around for 32years. Dropped the car off at 8am. Got a call about 8:30ish. They said that it might be the clutch since when the car is stopped they are able to shift gears not a problem. I get a call about 1:00pm. Sir your clutch is toasted...its the Orig one that came in the car and your tranny needs a few adjustments...well now at 4:00pm I go pickup my sweetheart...$900 later and shes off the line quicker than ever...Damm Shes faster acclerating that before..He said that I should easily get another 100K miles out of her with the work that I have done...Well the good news is that its paid off...no payments so I guess sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and get work done....
