Just got GSR. Best Bang for Buck?
I just purchased a 94 GSR with 81000 miles on it... Wanting some performance mods, my friends suggest cat-back exhaust, underdrive pulley, air intake, new sparkplugs and wires. But he's into his Focus and doesnt know s*it about the imports. What do you think is the best bang for the buck mods, and which ones are musts. Thanks.

He's got good ideas, except for the pullies. I'd start by giving your car a refresh. New tranny fluid, new coolant, new spark plugs, new plug wires, new fuel filter. Will cost you around $75.
If you really want to do it up nice, and don't mind a little downtime, have your fuel injectors cleaned and flowmatched.
This place does it for $11/injector: http://www.cruzinperformance.com/
It is in southwest Michigan, so UPS ground should only be a day or two each way, plus 48 hours of turn around time.
After you know your car is back up to stock performance (maybe a little more, maybe a little less), you can think about an intake, header, cat, exhaust combo. That will net you 15-30 horses and cost between $1K and $2K. Obviously more cash typically means more power.
We can help you make decisions on what products to choose if you tell us what your goals are and how deep your wallet is.
This is a good starting point for both NA and supercharger buildup. The other option would be turbo, which can be very pricey but gets the job done. Obviously there are many other ways to mod your car, but seeing as you seemed to be most interested in power increase I left off my speech on suspension and sticky tires.

I paid 6800. It is in very good condition. One owner (an older woman, so it hasn't been driven too hard), all service has been performed on it on time by the acura dealership, and it's a "non-smoking" car for what thats worth.

It's all about the whole system. You might buy one part here and one part there but in the end if you want real power you're going to have to buy them all, except for the pulleys. Biggest waste of money evur :comic book guy:
Get your suspension fixed up. That will give you the most satisfaction until you get a new exhaust system and turbo or supercharger.

If it were my car, I'd start with what qtiger said. Forget about I/H/E or anything. Work on your suspension, get in some autocrossing to learn the car.
Research supercharging or turbo, WAY more bang for your buck.
