Default what grade fuel to use?

i did a search but didn't really find any answers....

what kind of fuel should my sister be putting in her integra? i'm not sure what trim she has (see my other post). she told me she's been putting premium, but i know with my accord, honda recommends ONLY putting low grade. didn't know if it was the same for the integras or not. thanks for all your help.

First, we need to know the trim level.

If the motor says VTEC on it, it needs premium. Otherwise regular will do.

And I hate to say it, but RTFM.

RTFM, LOL, that's hilarious.

About the fuel question, look at the gauge cluster. Look in the middle of the tach or under the odo; does it say "Premium Unleaded Only" or something of that nature? If it does, then yes, you need premium fuel, otherwise the answer is most likely no. To really make sure you should find out what trim level it is (via the replies to the other post you made). GSRs require premium; the others don't.

GSRs require premium
Actually according to the manual they don't _require_ it. If you use 87 or 89 octane, the engine will run at a degraded level just fine.

you found out it's an ls?how did you find out?
He got 'help' in another thread.

Whats RTFM?
Read The F**king Manual. And everyone should.

Don't have the manual here. But, as a general rule, you should always use the highest octane fuel you can afford - regardless of intended engine performance. My grandfather has used premium in his 18 year-old tercel since day one, and it still runs great.

I would RTFM, but TFM is not here. Its my SISTER'S car.....she's nowhere near the enthusiasts you guys are. She's just been putting premium in since she bought it and I was wondering if she was doing the right thing or if it would hurt the engine (as it does in the newer Accords). Thanks crash/Level_7

does it really hurt the engine if you run a fuel that helps the engine combustion chamber combust more evenly and not detonate. I dont know you would have to prove it to me before i believed that line of bull schnit. I'm not trying to say that you are wrong but just show me a place where i can see a diagram or something or explain why it would hurt the new accord engines.
