Looks like a typical Short Ram Intake.

I doubt it got that one guy 20hp though.

Way too cheap? I say its way too expensive. Get a ten dollar pipe on ebay and a K&N filter. IMO, Intakes are only worth as much as the filter.

Yep, pretty much.

I've seen guys rock PVC pipe intakes.. and they do the exact same thing as the AEM, K&N, etc intakes.

PVC piping is a no-no, when exposed to excessive heat, they release a gas that affects engine performance negatively. in my opinion, if rocking PVC piping is acceptable to you, then you really shouldnt be tinkering with your engine in the first place. PVC or not, if it was that simple to make power, honda would have done it already. stick with a k&n drop-in and you should be fine. yeah its 70 bucks or whatever, but dont waste your money on that cold air intake.

The extra 1-2hp, and 0-1 ft lbs doesnt even seem worthwhile. The same goes for exhausts. I've been there and done that with NA bolt-ons. I really wish I could go back in time and just saved my time and money elsewhere.

oh i wasnt agreeing with the PVC...thats just ghetto haha, yeah as for the filter, i planned on it anyways because you save loads of cash regardless due to the ability to clean it. Just gotta wait a bit, lotta stuff going on repairing the car. gotta fix the suspension, because it is driving me nuts from squeaks, getting rack and pinion bellows and R&R bushings replaced.

as for the filter, just drop it in where the regular filter resides right? will the cover go on after or do i keep it off? i am assuming it cover it lol, heard stories of uncovering air filter, no bueno

You should check out the AEM store on ebay. Quite a bit of shit on clearance. You just might find an intake for a 100 bucks. I found an AEM CAI for a GSR for a 100 bones when I was just browsing. I almost bought it just because of the price. I recommend trying that before going with this intake.

you could always get one of these and throw a K&N on it.

just put a K&N drop-in filter and you will yield same hp results as you would with your average cold-air or short-ram intake....
