Default strut...sway...tower....bars?

are strut, sway, and tower all different names for the same bar? and if so....what are the differences in the front mount and rear mounted bars? function-wise...

thanx

there are sway bars.
and there are strut tower bars.

the ones in the front will support the front of the chassis.
the ones in the rear will support the rear of the chassis.

you will proboly see tie bars too.

A swaybar is a part of the suspension that ties the two sides of a suspension together. It effectively increases the spring rate while the car is turning.

A strut, tower or tie bar is used to stiffen up the body of the car which the suspension attatches to. It is not a part of the suspension.

yes..Booty is correct.

the sway bar helps decrease body roll through turns.

strut bars just increase chassis rigidity through turns.
