Default water=bent rod?

Just wondering if water gets up in the intake and gets into the engine if it could bend a rod? This happened to me awhile back but I was just wondering if water could have caused it? It was raining while i was driveing and all of a sudden the car died. Next day came to figure out the rod was bent. It made no noise at all when it shut off.
Thnks

and also what can water getting into your engine through the intake do to your engine?

the intake is the only way for water to get into your engine when it is running.

and yes, water can cause you to bend a rod.

severe cases can cause you to tweak your crank. but you would have to be at 7k rpm and get a cylinder full.

bent or thrown rods are usually what happens.

what if you are at like 3k and the engine doesn't even stall, but it locks up for like 1-2 seconds, could anything bad happen?

Keep in mind that in a cumbustion chamber you have an air/fuel mixture that is being compressed and then detonated.

If a significant amount of water gets into a cylinder, since water can not be compressed like air can, when the piston comes up to top dead center and tries to compress the water, it will do some really bad damage to something.

Usually its the rod, because the rod is the weakest link basically. Depending on rpm the damage could be REALLY bad....or REALLY REALLY bad.

So dont take your 'teg thru those mud holes with the trucks ok?
