Default im scared

i was just driving home from work, and it had been raining for like 5 hours and was still raining.i have an aem cai. i dried the filter before i left work, and never went above 3k all the way home. at one point the car out of nowhere just did this weird thing(it felt like i slammed the brakes and skidded in the rain, but i never touched the brakes). then it was normal again, the engine did not stall. was that like a "almost hydrolock", i hope my engine is gunna be ok,it seemed fine, and when i got home i checked the filter it was completly wet and there was water sitting in the bumper splashguard below it. by the way i never went through any puddles more than like 3 inches deep.
do any of you know what might of happened,i really hope my engine wasn't harmed at all.

ps:any one wana buy a aem cai?

sounds like hydrolock to me.. :/

if it's still idling ok.. smooth and all.. i wouldn't worry too much. just pay attention to how it responds over the next couple of days. if it feels ok, it probably is.

Might wanna change your oil or something. Damn near everyone's hydrolocking these days.

changing the oil will tell you if water got in there somehow....hey, its $10 and 30mins of ur time for peace of mind.

if the car is running fine now, i would just leave it like that. if you did any more damage...youll know.

might want to see how your plugs are doing also.

check the spark plugs...take off your filter and dry it out and reoil it.

WEIRD THAT YOUR CAR IS FASTER.... IVE BEEN THROUGH A MOTOR FROM HYDROLOCK... IF YOUR CAR IS RUNNING ITS FINE.. ID RECCOMEND TAKING THAT INTAKE OFF OR PUTTING A BLOCKER ON IT... PERSONALLY ID TAKE THE INTAKE OFF AND PUT A SHORT RAM ON, IT ONLY TAKES ONE TIME TO LEARN YOUR LESSON WHEN YOU BLOW A MOTOR.
