get yourself a helmes manual, and do it yourself. it should only take you a couple hours. but make sure you have a torque wrench that is in good calibration.
you will get charged about 2-3 hours labor plus parts at a shop. that would be around $250-$300.

i don't recommend that the average joe take on this job on their own.. especially if they have experience doing just simple things like oil changes and brakes..
I've done a couple headgaskets and I'm far from ASE certified. Lol.
Then again, I have done my 12:1 LS/VTEC swap by myself too.
Only thing that sucked was the Clutchmaster's stage 3.
Anyhow, I would say go for it go buy a manual and follow it and you will have no problems.
