Default Can this be buffed out?

Hello everyone,

So I'm leaving the Laker game today, as im pulling out of the parking lot, a drunk bi*** rear ends me!!! Lucky for me, there was absolutely no damage to my bumper, hatch, or paint. The only thing that broke was my rear left tail light. I was sooo mad!

So what I need to do is replace the light. I've been looking on ebay for some but most of lights are the earlier versions with the yellow, red, and white. Mine are the 98-01 which are all red. I found this one which is exactly what I need, but it has a scuff mark as you can see. So my question is, can this scuff mark be buffed out?? If so how? Please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to. Take to a detail shop & show them.
Did Kobe play & who were they playing?

Is she paying for it? If so go to the dealership and order a pair on her tab.

Is there insurance involved? Sound like she is at fault. She must have been damn hot, because you have made no mention of insurance. From a claims stnad point (At work right now) there could be supplemental damage unviewable from the surface. Your tail light could be the least of your worries. Your paint may look fine as well, but the clear coat could have been compromised which can escalate into visible damage at a later time.

Yes, although it was a pre-season game, Kobe did play. They played the Toronto Raptors and won.

I did not get insurances involved. From the damage I seen, I figured I could just replace the light myself, so I got $80 from her to replace it. There were no scrapes/scratches/dents on the body so I really hope nothing happens later on to the paint.

Should I stick with the 98-01 tail lights or switch to the 94-97? What do you guys think?

keep the 98-01's if your car is within those years.

if you're not too far from burbank, i wouldnt mind taking a stab at buffing out that light.

Always go through insurance. Mark my words...

I probably would have, but I'm not under the insurance. The car is under my parents' insurance so it wouldn't have been a good idea.

Yeah, that can suck. It pisses your parents off, whether your at fault or not. Right away they think their premium is going to go thru the roof.
