1st Gen EACV question
Did the 86-87 Integra have an Electronic Air Control Valve, or were all 86-89's equipped with them? I am having problems with a (supposedly) 87 ECU in my 87 Civic Si, swapping in the 86-87 PG7 (D16A1) DOHC ECU is a direct plug-and-play replacement for the 86-87 PE7 (D15A3) SOHC ECU, and is not supposed to have any conflicts. When I tried the swap, however, the ECU started blinking code 14, the EACV circut. I am sure the 86-87 Si did not have an EACV, so I am led to beleive the EACV was introduced in the Integra with the 88 model year changes (among which was the engine managment upgrade from "pre-OBD" to "OBD0"). The ECU I bought from a junkyard came from a 7/87 car, and the owner told me it was indeed an 87 model (I have yet to go back and check it for the vac. advance distributor to prove if it is an 87 or 88). Anyway, anyone have answers or ideas?
