Default Breaks

I just replaced the roters and pads on my 94 ls, and now when i break I have to go to the floor to slow down, any Ideas?????

its brakes. and did you bleed the lines?

did you have any type of problems with the brakes being soft before the change? I would suspect that you need to bleed them better.

also, did you give them time to break in properly? when you get new pads and rotors, they tend not to work very well untill after a couple hundred miles.

Yeah, but 'to the floor'? That's just plain dangerous. Doesn't sound like a break in problem. I'd say air in the lines... but let's see what Antarius' post yields.

well true. and are your brake lines in good shape? they could be expanding to unreasonable amounts, but that shouldnt cause the pedal to go to the floor. most likely the brakes werent bled good enough.

It might also be the master cylinder but if it just started after you changed the brakes then chances are about 99% that it's air in the lines.
