Default How much faster is the GSR tranny ?

Hypothetical Situation...........If you have two cars racing a quarter mile......both are GSRs (identical in every aspect), but one has the GSR tranny (shorter gears) and the other has the LS tranny......In a rough estimation, HOW MUCH FASTER do you think the GSR with the GSR tranny would make it to the end of the 1/4 mile ?

.5?!?!?!? Dont you think thats a bit much?

I think it all depends on WAY too many variables to even put an estimation on it...but honestly I would think waaaaay less than .5 given equal variables.

no. the difference would be noticeable in my opinion. on a stock GSR, the one with its stock GSR tranny would run down the 1/4 in normal fashion... then swap out the tranny for an LS, and run it down. :thumbdown itll fall on its face right after it enters 3rd. itll drop out of VTEC and you have to get the revs up again... i doubt you'll even get a chance to hit 4th (probably close to redline in 3rd). the 1st and 2nd gear on the LS and GSR may "feel" the same, but they arent. the final drive is different and that affects each gear.

1&2 are the same gear ratio, 3,4,5 are shorter on the GSR, as well as a shorter final drive, so every gear is shorter. I wouldn't think that .5 sec would be the difference, after all an LS vs a GSR stock is .5sec or less depending on driver. You are saying a GSR vs a GSR is gonna be .5 sec difference? I highly doubt that. It will be noticeable, but not much. Maybe .2 tenths?

I think it would be more than 2 tenths. I have gone from a LS tranny to a GSR and now to a JDM R tranny and noticed a big difference over the LS tranny.
