17's or 16's and why?
Yes i did a search but I did not get the info that I needed.
I am getting summer rims and I want to know what size I should get. 16's or 17's? Why do you prefer one over the other? Thanks for your help. I really appreciate your input.

15x7..but since that isnt one of the choices...16x7. 17's are just too big for my tastes. some look nice still, but i personally just wont get anything larger than 16s.

Well ya saw what I said in yer other post but I'll go into more detail.
195/55-15 = 595 mm
215/45-16 = 600
205/40-17 = 596
215/40-17 = 604
So you can run a 215 mm wide tire with either 16" or 17".
Cosmetically speaking, to me the 40-series tire looks too thin and the wheels look too big for the car without a body kit.
You have to spend more money to get a 17" wheel that's as light as a 16" wheel.
17" tires are more expensive.

Apathy Kills
16" fo sho.
Though I wouldn't with a tire much wider than 205, especially in front.
Unless you want your car to tramline like heck.

16" for sure.
17"s just kill the performance too much (even 14 lb LE-37's)
Plus, now my car looks a little goofy and I've been desperately in need of a better lip kit. Bah, I'm going to sell my wheels for some 16"s Gram Lights

Yeah I don't think the difference is going to be night and day with anything but looks. But like these guys said, ride harshness, weight, and cost are things to weigh the decision aside from appearance. Just my 2 cents. Later.

If you're not worried about speed, then the choice is what you prefer in looks. The ride of 17s will obviously be harsher than 16s. I have 17s for summer, they look great, and with good tires, I love the way they handle. But since I'm not going for speed (yet) any weight added by the 17s doesn't really matter to me.

It depends on the car you put them on but for hondas/acuras I say 16's w/ 40 series rubber. Thats what I put on my car and Im very happy with the descision. I just picked a rim that has spokes that go all the way to the edge to make them seem bigger.
