$800 for belt replacement?
To answer the original post, $800 is a normal price for that job. I paid $425 for a t-belt, ac belt, ps belt, alt belt, water pump, thermostat, at some shop. You could also take into account the fact that I could have gotten it done cheaper at a shop that I know, but had no choice because I was stranded in another state b/c my car was overheating due to a faulty water pump.
Go to a few different mechanics and do some bargaining. Just make sure that they acctually replace all the parts that you agreed upon. And you could just buy the parts at the dealer and bring it to them. So they only charge you for labor.
