Exhaust.....
Yo. I got a 97 Teg LS. I am wanting to turbo charge it down the road. I was curious what kind of specs I need for my exhaust in order for it to be compatiable with the turbo down the road. Also, Im one of those anti-loud exhaust kinda of people, so if anyone has any ideas about what type of exhaust, I'd really appreciate it. I am going to get it as a christmas present, so I need to hurry up and make my decision. Any suggestions would be very helpful. I'm new to the import scene, so I am learning as I go.
Thanks

Putting a turbo on your car significantly increases the flow required of the exhaust. To get the full benefit of the turbo you'll need a 3" system. However, this will be insanely loud on a normally aspirated car.
If you want to get an exhaust now, the best thing to do is just get one intended for a normally aspirated car and then sell it later on when you get the turbo. Things like that tend to take longer to accquire than we plan for anyway.

One had a turbo LS on 7-9psi on a stock motor...12.9s all day long and was adamant about the need for a 3'' exhaust for the motor to perform effectively...
I have 2.5'' piping on my n1...I figured 3'' would be overkill on a non-turbo Honda...and I'll just live with the 2.5'' piping when I save enough for the turbo (which, as said before is taking A LOT longer than expected!)...

wow, didnt know adding a turbo to a stock LS motor will make it run high twelves... practically shave off 2.8-3 seconds in the 1/4? lol, what else does he have? one of my 300zx TT's only pushing 10 psi, with 70 shot of nitrous and only able to pull 12.5@113.

If I were you and I was 100% sure of going turbo in the near future I'd just go with a 3" exhaust system for now. Insanely loud? Probably. I'm not sure if carsound makes a cat with a 3" collector but I'd be sure to refrain from using a test pipe right now.

I got a 98' LS, with an Apex-i n1... and if you dont want something too loud on a NA engine, then dont get this exhaust. The silencer quiets it alittle, but it's still pretty loud from 4k on.
