Default K&N air filters

how many teg's in here have either the ru-2820 or the e-2427 on their stock intake tube? Did you notice any gains? I'm leaning more towards the 2820 because it's only 30.00 as opposed to the 2427's $60.00 pricetag. But i was wondering if there were any fitment issues with the 2820. Any replies will be greatly appreciated. BTW, this is for a 5spd 3rd gen RS.

i got the e-2427. you won't really notice any gains. 1-2 HP is really negligible. i bought it mostly for the reuseability.

Apparently my mechanic stuck a K&N in my stock intake box, and ive not noticed much of a gain. Maybe half a horse, or so, but nothing major. K&N are pretty cheap anyway, so if your going to change your filter, may as well make it K&N.. It may not add an extreme ammount of horse power to your car, but it still adds sompthing

FYI, foam filters normally flow better than the paper ones, but they do require a fair bit of cleaning...

Just in case you were looking for some more power out of changing the air filter...

the numbers they advertise are on highly modified cars. an integra might get 1/2 hp if your lucky. i switched from a paper filter with 101k on it to a new K&N in my durango with a 5.2 V8 and i noticed absolutely nothing.

If 30 bucks is all u got, then i suggest saving it since there's better things to spend it on than a filter. sorry to sound like a kill-joy, but i'm so used to being broke and spending all my money (i dont make much to begin with) on my car...i just felt like i had to share
