my friend has a wrx with that 3" hks exhaust and trust me that sh-t sounds good. To me it sounds really nice but mean all at the same time if u get what i mean. but dont worry about it being to loud, it has more of a lower rumble(a cleaner sound). So to answer yur question yes go with HKS.

A WRX has a turbocharged flat-4. A flat-4 sounds completely different from an inline-4 to begin with, and a turbo acts as somewhat of a muffler.

I've never heard of an HKS Hi-Power, are you maybe talking about a HKS Hiper?

What do you mean by thick? Rolled tip? 6" rolled tip?

i got one, not too too loud (long trips it can get kind of annoying, but nothing the radio can't drown out), i love it though, it has a deep sound and it looks tight the way it comes out at a slant.... the only problem i have with it is that it hangs down pretty low and since i'm lowered, i've scraped it a few times.

You'll like the HKS Hiper if you're a loud exhaust person. See this thread for reference:

I don't know about "thick" but the comptech exhaust is a solid investment in terms of looks and performance and doesn't draw unwanted attention.

i meant "thick" because i am going turbo and dont want to replace the exhaust for a bigger one once i do it. my other consideration was the apexi world sport, its a lot cheaper but it has a smaller piping diameter..i dunno what to do. any other suggestions? how big of a difference will 3.0" piping make over 2.5" piping or 2.0" piping make with a turbo? i want it to be heard but i do not want it droning on the highways or getting too much attention from cops....i get headaches easily and drive 40 miles a day....so i guess thats considered a quiet exhaust. hope you can help..thanks.
