5 lug conversion and gunmetal itr rim Q's
hey i did a search but didnt find anything.
Does anyone know where i could get the stock gunmetal type r wheels that i beleive were on the 00-01 type r (am i right?), and what kind of price i would be looking at, preferably used and in good condition. I was thinking probably around $700-800 w/ tires.
I know that i am going to need to get a 5 lug conversion for this and i guess my second question is what exact parts are necesary for this conversion. Ive seen some conversions for sale but they rarely say what parts are included, i was hoping one of the teg GURUs could tell me what i need. I know that i have seen complete conversions w/ no wheels for around $800, does that sound about right?
LASTLY Im not planning on doing this for a while but i want to get an idea of what i would be getting myself into. Ive got a black 95 Gsr and if anyone has pics of these rims on a black teg please post them or put up a link.
THANKS!

Up front you need the hubs and brakes. In back you need the complete trailing arm and lower control arm assembly which has the brakes and such attatched.
Overall it's way too expensive. You can just get a fastbrakes.com front ITR-spec brake upgrade and some similar gunmetal rims for much less money. So they still have four lugnuts instead of five and you don't get nifty red 'A' centercaps. Boo hoo.
On certain other cars (S13 240SX comes to mind) doing a similar conversion is worthwile because it opens up a much larger selection of brakes. But in Honda-land, the overwhelming majority of cars have 4-lug hubs so if anything converting to 5-lug will only limit your parts choices.

If you're really insisting on Type R rims, I remember Salty D at Vwvortex bought a set of BMW rims and had the lug holes filled and re-drilled to fit his Vdub. I have no details about this but you can try going to a rim shop and asking about that.
MrFatBooty is right though. For the amount of parts and labour it's gonna take you're prolly better off just buying nicer rims for the same overall price.

Save money and get my rims.
h: Would probably cost the same $$$
Redrilling the wheel to convert it to a 4 lug IMO would make the wheel weaker. There are plenty of gunmetal rimz out there that are 4-lug.

i know someone who did the 5 lug conversion on thier 99 gsr and they have the gunmetal itr wheels and it looks sweet. I origionally wanted the racing hart s7 wheels in gunmetal or silver, but i just really like the way the itr wheels look on integs. Plus i really only want a 16 inch wheel and the smallest Racing hart s7s are 17 in
ITR wheels are 15" at least in this country. If you want 16's then buy some 16's. If you want to spend another $1000 on top of the cost of the ITR wheels just to fit them on your car be my guest but it seems like a big waste to me.
