Default Odd Screeching Sound. Steering?

After starting up my car, when I turn the first couple of times, I get this random screeching sound. It only last for 1-2 seconds then it's gone.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping it's just the drive belts.

probably one of the belts. is your a/c on when you're starting the engine? if not, it's probably the alternator belt. stand over the engine bay and have someone start the car.

see if you can hear where it's coming from.

I always turn the AC off before I start, so it's never on . It doesn't squeak when you start it. It's after it's started and you start driving and steering. It goes away after 5-10 minutes. Probably after whatever it is has heated up.

Thank you, I'll check it out.

Please note that it is not the typical squealing that you hear from cars, rather a short screech.

i missed the part where you said you turn a couple of times. h:

it's probably your p/s belt. try increasing the tension, unless it's obviously under proper tension in which case you may need to replace it. hopefully it's not the pulley itself.

It's getting more annoying. Once the car is warmed up, it goes away. Although it is 100F outside, lol.

I think it might be the Alternator Belt now.

What are the standard intervals for drive belts?
