It looks pretty good, plus with that nice thick tubing a lot of air gets through. So it most definietly sounds good.

Looks like the tubing decreases in diameter near the intake mani.

Does this result in a "reservoir" of air (like the J's racing intake "banana")? Would improve throttle response...

yeah i think it would be like teh J's idea but i think this design would work overall for a short ram

with this design i would want to see dynos, i think low end will lose some hp and torque

well, since the intake tubing can hold more air, it wont take as much vacuum to get more air into the engine, increasing throttle response and helping low end power. but i think it looks a little wierd.

I'm not sure about that. But, I bet it works. I'm sure they put plenty of time in that design.

Would I buy it? Hell no.
AEM CAI w/ ByPass Valve or Short Ram for me, only.
(Well, or stock)

I'm waiting for a dyno to see if it's better than an Icebox.

Hell, I'd probably go with the icebox anyway

this a lil off topic but since u guys mentioned the icebox, do u guys know if I would need the short ram tube from comptech to use the icebox? or can I just use the stock tubing or any aftermarket shortram to connect to the box.

and the AEM design looks interesting, I need to see dyno before believing the article though.
