Default Help Stolen ITR!! Guess who stole it? Honda!!

Honda Finance is SLIMEY!!
Read on to find out why.

It is with great sadness that I saw my 2000 Phoenix Yellow
Type R #779 depart today as a result of reposession.
I made steady payments to Honda Canada Finance but recently
moved to Florida on business for an undeterminable time.
I talked to the Acura dealership on Lake St in St Catherines
and they said that there would be no problems.
When I arrived in Florida I immediately called Honda Finance
to make new payment arrangements with them.
That is where the problems arose.
In the small print on the lease agreement it says the following:
Section 12: Use of Vehicle You may not permit the use of the vehicle
under the following conditions: Section C garage a vehicle outside of Canada for
a period exceeding 30 days unless with the Lessors consent.

Here's where the bull**** starts.
I called them and sent them a payemnt.
I talked to a guy by the name of Rakeesh who immediately forwarded me over
to this other guy Yonik who deals with tracing cars that are outside of Canada.
They treated me like the car was stolen.
I told them that I called them, and had I not called them they would never even
have known that the car was in the States. I was informing them because it was
the proper thing to do.
I was trying to negotiate payment terms with them.
I sent them a western union quick collect payment and was told that it was ok
for me to have the car in the states for a certain time period and that they
were working to get me authorization to keep the car in the states.
I said that was fine, and if I had to I would switch the lease over to a purchase
assuming that I would have no problems financially with them seeing as I've bought
two integras in the last 4 years. I handed the other integra in at the end of the lease
just a couple of months ago. The car was in mint condition and only had 30 000 miles on it.

So anyway, I am getting frustrated with HCF because they are not taking my phone calls,
I call Yonik on his cel number which he gave me and then he tells me off for calling him on it. I am trying to arrange payment methods with them and getting nowhere.
They wont take a u.s. check or money order, they wont take a credit card,
they wont take a wire transfer, they wont take my money!!

This morning I awoke to two repo guys jacking the car up (and not even on a flatbed)
I asked them what they were doing and they said that they had authorization to reposess
and that the reposession was coming from Honda Canada Finance.

So I call Yonik and ask him what the **** he thinks he's doing?
I explain to him that im more than willing to make monthly payments on the car
and that I have been trying to make payment arrangements with him.
I assumed they wanted to pull the money out of a Canadian bank account, so I wired
cash to my wife's account in Canada.
He tells me that the terms are now non-negotiable and that if I want the car i have
30 days to come up with $23 000.00 which is the buy out.
We were originally talking about switching the lease to a finance agreement
and I even had Ralph at the dealership start the paperwork for me.
Apparently that is not acceptable any longer because they dont want the car in the u.s.
that was his answer. My answer to him was that in the agreement it doesnt prohibit this
expressly it says that all they have to do is give a written document saying that its ok.
They werent prepared to do that.

Here I am a guy that has bought one car through honda finance and paid it off.
Then purchased a second car (the R) put 2 years worth of payments into a lease that I would like to buy out. I made that decision 1 week after leasing the R.
I've modifiend the car because I planned on buying it out. Put 10 grand into it.
I have paid honda on time like a champ!
I let them know where I am and my intentions!
They tell me to put 2 million worth of insurance on the car and it would be ok to be
in the states, so i did at great expense i might add.
Then they send the repo guys out and pick the car up.

If you feel this is unfair please call Yonik at Honda Canada Finance
he can be reached at 416-754-6755 or on his cel at 416-402-9485

At this time I am considering this a theft because of the circumstance.
Please show your support for a fellow ITR owner and help me get my car back!!
Please call Yonik and blast him!!

Sincerely
Russell Rockefeller
2000 Integra R #779

Please help me get my R back!!

If I may suggest, if you have some family that still lives in Canada, why don't you tell Honda, that you understand their point because of the legal contract and are willing to relocate the car back in Canada. Do so, leave it there for a month and then drive it back to the US and never call them again. They sound like my insurance company a little bit.

Quote: "oooohhh, you have a Ichibahn lighter adapter? That'll cost you an extra 75$ a month in insurance!" as if!

Anyways I don't know what you're legal recourse is, but I'd pursue them in court for loss wage, loss time, embarassment...

MAKE SURE YOU BRING THEM ON JUDGE JUDY! So that we can all watch! :naughty:
