motor mount inserts?

Default motor mount inserts?

my brother just got some Energy Suspension polyurethane motor mount inserts for his 96 gsr. i was just wondering what they did?

nothing until he installs them.


The stock motor mounts especially when they get old let the engine move more. The more the engine moves the less energy its transmitting down to the wheels. Polyurethane engine mounts are much stiffer than the stock bushings and the engine cannot shift around as much.

Thats the theory. How much of a difference they will make for his car I don't really know. He should see less torque steer when he is shifting into 2nd from 1st gear. Basically when the engine shifts around the suspension geometry changes and in integras, the car lurches to the left when you shift. I can search it out on google or something if you like

i put the front 2 inserts in my car. i have yet to put in the rear one because its a ***** to get to and im just gonna wait until i pull out the whole manifold!

motor mounts are then best thing i did to my car so far. they reduced wheel hop by alot. :thumbup:

the rear requires a considerable amount of work to replace but apparently it makes the largest difference.

i have the two sides installed. they do reduce wheel hop, but my door panels and dash rattle like a 1970's datsun at idle

my car at idle still feels stock and i only have the front 2 mounts too! did you put those zip tie looking things on the mounts?

yeah i used the zip ties too. i think having 105k miles doesnt help either :dunno: the idle was smooth when i first installed them at 75k miles.

and thats with 105k miles??
