Lowering tire pressure on something that isn't spinning will only result in a lower trap speed. I say inflate the tires more, they aren't spinning, you have no reason to drop the tire pressure which in turn creates resistance, in turn helps you traction but looses top end.
Inflate the tires, advance timing, remove weight, run 13" or 14" wheels (as opposed to 17" +) power brake.
