The stock Michelins suck on the track. Also, you will quickly fry the stock brakes. Get some Hawk HP+ or Porterfield R-4S pads. I have the Porterfields and they seem to work well. Also put in some good high temp fluid, I run ATE super blue (it's pretty much the standard).
Then stop wasting your money on getting another 5 hp here or there. Go spend it on track days. NOW. So take your $250 and buy some good brake pads and fluid, then hit the track!
Oh, one more thing, if you suddenly get a bunch of cash, then suspension will yield the most fun improvement on the track. And you will quickly learn about the benefits of a limited slip diff once you've done some quick laps. Get one of those too.
