Yes Ls/vtec Again!!
I wouldn't say that an LS/VTEC can't be done reliably and cheaply... It all depends on what u want out of it... like, for me... I spent a lot of money on mine...
JE pistons,
Eagle rods,
b16a head, valve seats done, ITR valvesprings/retainers,
NEW BEARINGS (critical imo. I've heard of ppl using the old ones that's idiotic IMO)
... And once u get it warm so u don't hear those JE's clattering around and all, she purrs like a kitten... All the way to 8000 ;-)
Also, about the Coolant passages, I have no idea why stock b18a coolant passages won't suffice. I suppose a new VTEC water pump would help... but I'm under the assumption that's not what you're talking about.
