Default LS with Type R Transmission.....Clutch Choices????

as u can see i have an ls with a brand new type r transmission.....i was curious to kno if u can use a ls flywheel and clutch setup with that transmission or would u have to get a type r clutch.....just to see part numbers i looked on like advance auto and the ls clutch and type r clutch come up under the same part number.....could someone with more knowledge please steer me in the right direction???? thanxs

I would go with the type r clutch to mate the type r tranny. However the choice is yours since in that department all b series parts are interchangeable. Welcome to HAN!!!

i appreciate the welcome.....i understand where u are comin from.....but u do think it will bolt on and work for even a couple days till i get together a few hundred???? the transmission broke me haha.....

You'll be fine. You may even see no reason to swap the R clutch in. I'm just being anal.

keep an eye out for bearing wear in your engine. the b18b is not a high-revver, and the short gearing of the itr trans doesnt help the issue...

get your engine oil analyzed for 30 bucks and you'll learn a butt load of info about your engine

for the same amount of money you can piece together a turbo kit. thats my opinion on that.

but some people just love to ride the NA train, so its really up to you.

i would prefer a naturally aspirated engine as well....i just want it to be somethin that will last for a given amoun of time u kno.....

well if u want it to last, you better ditch the ITR trans or never drive on the freeway.
