Default Trouble starting 95 gsr.

When its cold out and i go to start it after it has cooled down or its been sitting over night, i go to start it, and it just clicks. All of the accessories turn on(radio, heat, lights, etc) but it doesn't turn over. After trying it a few times it turns right over. Not totally sure what it is. ANY help is appreciated.

How long has this been happening?

Get your battery tested and/or fully recharged. If thats ok, next step is to get your starter tested.

Unfortunately, it sounds like your starter is dying.

I'm going to agree with the last post but go straight to the starter. If the battery was bad you may or may not get any indicator lights and it def wouldn't start after a few trys. Sounds like a bad solenoid on the starter... But don't quote me

I see. Yeah everything else works perfectly fine when i try to start it. I went to start it today after sitting all night outside, and it started up first try. It only has trouble some days. I'm just paranoid at little shit like that, so i wanna figure what it is even though i wont be driving it for a few months(winter).

If you want to test it yourself normaly you can short out the two main contact terminals on the solonoid and i should turn right over. Im really not sure how easy it is to get to the starter on that or if the solonoid is even accessable. I would personally just replace the thing.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned battery cables/connections. That is the first thing I will check when a car is clicking instead of starting. Take a baking soda/water solution and an old toothbrush and get all the built-up corrosion off the terminals. Check the cables thoroughly for any problems.

Usually the starter will give some indication that it is about to go out, so I am a little reluctant to jump to that conclusion.

I just assumed it was the starter from his first sentence. Gave me the impression that he always has trouble starting it when it's cold out side. If this was the first and only time it happened then yes i'd agree i'd check the for a faulty battery first.
