Default Need Help With Engine Sensors...

I just bought a 1995 4 door integra that has a 2000 engine in it. They just swapped the engine about 2 weeks before i bought it. The problems im having is the oxygen sensor on the 2000 engine will not connect to the plug on the car because its a 95. Shouldnt they have put in the 2000 wires with the 2000 engine to make the sensor fit right? Im also wondering if they changed the ecu in the car, because with the car warms up the idle revs up and down up and down. Is there a way to check if the ecu was changed? ( a certain number to look for on the ecu or something?) and is there a way i can plug in the oxygen sensor ? [if need i can take pics of the engine and plug if you think you can help me or give me advise.] The check engine light is always on and the car runs a little bit hot.

Do you have a LS or GSR swap? If they swapped over a ecu from a 2000 integra then it should be OBDIIB. To find out what ecu you have, read the number on the ecu itself and refer to this:

However, I believe you don't have an OBDIIB ecu since the 2000-2001 model came equipped with the immobilzer unit. I believe if you use that engine with that ecu, you'll need a matching immobilizer control unit in the steering column along with matching key to start it. You might have an OBDIIA (1996-1999).

Did they do a full engine harness swap? Not exactly sure why the sensor isn't connecting. One reason I think is because your integra is a 94 which is OBDI and the swap is OBDII, maybe you need an OBDII--->OBDI harness. :dunno:

also, do you think the reason its idling up and down is because thr idle air sensor is bad, or do you think the ecu just cant read the engine right... well i guess i need to see if i have the right ecu. the reason im thinking the ecu didnt get changed is because i bought the car from a car lot ran by arabians and there mechanic didnt seem to know all that much, and he is the one that put the engine in. i think they just wanted to throw that engine in and sell the car.

Not sure about your idling problem but it could be that your IACV (idle air control valve) is clogged and needs to be cleaned. To do so here's a step by step with pictures:
