Default oil light problem

I have an 91 integra rs and i had it for a while now and i had some poor times in my days which pushed me to not changing the oil for a while and my oil light never came on. Now everything is back to normal so im changing the oil normally every 3-4 k miles but now should be around time for me to change it and the oil light comes on after i drive the car for about 15 to 20 mins and it just blinks and when i let the car sit and cool of and check the oil its normal....would that be my oil or something else.. i work alot during the week so im gonna wait till sat to change the oil and the filter and for now the car is sitting in the garage...im wondering is it because when i drive the motor sux in the oil from the pan and then its just a lil bit low and thats y or it something else. Ane sugdestions. Anything please. Im gonna change the oil on saturday and see if that hepled. If not where do i go from here?

The oil light means that oil pressure is low, not oil level. For some reason, you are loosing oil pressure. Typically, a dying oil pump or clogged oil pickup can cause this.

Where is the oil pump screen so i can clean it and the whole oil pump it selfe i know its in the oil pan but i never seen it before. and last time i changed my oil i got this new costrol oil to clean the engine from all the sludge would that clugged up my oil filter and couse the oil pressure to drop. And i read that the screen on the oil pump could b dirty but i dont know where that is. So picutres would be great.

Hook up an oil pressure gauge to it. I wouldn't recommend driving like that. Oil starvation will distroy bearings.

The pressure switch is right next to the oil filter. It has a single wire leading to it with a rubber boot attached to it.

The oil pump is on the other side of the timing belt behind the crank pulley. You want to check the oil pickup and that can only be accessed by removing the oil pan.

Sorry I can't provide pictures. This stuff is pretty self explanatory once you start where I suggested. A service manual will get into better detail about torque specs and removal/installation procedures.

might be easier to drop the oil pan and look around from there. The oil pump will be significantly harder to get to. won't you be able to get to the bottom of the pump when you drop the pan?
