Default what engine should i get

i currently have a non vtec 94 integra and i plan to chuck in a vtec b18c.
just wondering if i should get a type r b18c or gsr version. i plan to rebuild the engine with forged pistons with compression rate 12:1, acl race bearings, aftermarket cams and probably more head work (eg port n polish etc). would there be any power gain by getting the type r engine or would it be around the same as i am rebuilding. also wondering with this set up on either engines with extractors, exhaust, intake, afc and even a little timing advance will acheiving 200hp@fw be possible. even more?

why such high compression? If you want 200 whp you're better off putting in a b18c5 and throwing some basic bolt ons. Still not really sure what your goals are.

my aim is to get a 13 second integra dc4 (non vtec model). ive lookd around for b18c5 and they seem to expensive for me. i can get a no type r motor for cheap and rebuilding seems to be around 3k including parts. i probably would rebuild the type r motor if i found one cheap as id want max hp out of the engine. as for 200hp@wheels ive heard its possible but im sure bolt on mods wouldnt be enough. i will do bolt on mods on top, extractors exhuast n intake plus tuning

a type-r could hit 200whp without going into internals i'm sure.

but if you want to do internals you would be imo crazy to use one, they are overpriced and overhyped. pick up a gsr motor and do internals work to that. no point in spending an extra 2k on a motor that you are going to replace what makes it worth that extra 2k.

thx for the reply thats what i thought
other than compression and porting of heads and tuning
whats the other difference of type r motor

also btw the gsr motors only 500 while type r is around 5k mark so rebuilding seems as the much cheaper option
this is where i live in australia

I dunno what gsr motor you're looking at but they don't go for $500.
