Default Comptech I/H/E

Does anyone have thois setup on their GSR?

If so how do you like it? Any problems? Do you feel a power difference? Is it louder than stock? If so how much louder? Is it worth it?

my friend has a 2001 Integra GS-R and he had the Comptech I/H/E installed at a body shop all at one time. Iv'e been riding in his car for about 3 years and then rode with him the day he got it back, I could tell a definite power boost.

It's pretty hard to actually say how much of a power boost, different people will look at performance a different way. Personally I say that it was a really nice power boost, had a nice clean sound to it, not to loud but deep.

In my personal oppinion, It's a great setup, if you like your car that much and really want a nice increase with just i/h/e then comptech is by far the way to go. I can't see spending that much money but the parts are well worth it. It would be a great choice and I highly recommend comptech parts.

Also, the icebox is nice because it's a cold air intake but it has the box around the filter to pretty much 100% guarantee that their will be no engine flooding. Anyway, good luck to you

I have the Comptech Exhaust w/ AEM CAI, and I've ordered the Comptech header.
Personally, I'd rather have the AEM CAI than the Comptech icebox, mostly because of the sound and the price difference. I had a homemade "icebox" for a while, and the AEM is more enjoyable.
As far as the exhaust, it's kind of loud from inside the car at first...but you get use to it after a while and don't even notice it. And it sounds kick ass! I've only heard it once from outside the car, but it is definitely not loud and it has an excellent tone. I flew by my cousin yesterday and he loved the way it sounded....it put a smile on his face.
Not really much as far as power gains are concerned, but I'll let you know in about a week when I get my header.

I have the comptech cat-back, comptech intake, and the ice box.. still waiting on the header cause i heard that it doesnt make that much of a difference. I definitely love the exhaust I installed everything myself and it was relatively easy. The exhaust is great because its not too loud and gives a very aggressive note under full throttle. I did notice after long periods of driving, esp. on the interstate, that the exhaust tends to get louder... I have a couple of complaints about the ice box though.... The lid to it constantly likes to pop up on the corners, I think its from the heat and the plastic warping but after messing around with the way it was installed i was able to make a tighter seal. Also i like the exhaust because a lot of ricers dont know what kind it is and they always ask...

IMHO they are overpriced for the gains, but quality products none the less.

Yeap, check my sig. I did a review of this awhile ago; the post is somewhere in the archives.

IMO, it's pretty pricey but for just simple bolt-ons it's top-notch quality. Comptech says 20 whp gain on a 2000 gsr, but I don't trust their dyno-plot. If you combine I/H/E with a hi-flo cat, 15-20 whp isn't too far fetched.

The comptech icebox is noticeably louder at 6000+ rpm; the thinner walls of the header make engine noise a little more discernable at lower rpm. The car cruises along with a nice low hum; really noticeable in parking lots when you're in 1st @ 4000 rpm trying to find a parking spot h: Overall I love the sound.

I definitely felt a power different at middle and higher rpm; right off the line the car would have a tendency to bog a little more but that might be unrelated.

My only gripe would be the generic look of the exhaust tip/muffler, but if you're going for the sleeper style then it works well.

I really need to scan pictures of my car with the LE's on them.....

I upgraded my AEM CAI to a Comptech Icebox. I couldn't be happier. The Icebox has the same pull at high rpm, while giving a lot more at low rpm. I also go annoyed by the noise from the AEM. The Icebox flat out performs better. I've got a DC 4-1 header as well, and I really like the setup. Comptech does make nice headers. Their exhaust is one of the only ones I've considered because of it's nice quiet tone. The Comptech I/H/E is a nice setup.
