Default Boost Leak Tester

Is it okay to perform a boost leak test with all charge pipes still connected to throttle body? Not sure if it would harm any engine components when introducing pressure with engine off. Will the engine itself be able to hold the pressure, or will it leak throughout the engine?

That is fine. I don't know how else you would create a closed system to test for leaks.

Thanks! I figured that I was possibly leaking boost somewhere. A bit tougher to locate with a bigger close system, so I ended up capping off the other end before the throttle body to check the turbo side. Leaking boost at the bov flange, so got that welded. Also a tapped nipple off the charge pipe was leaking. I am building good boost now finally!
