Default Clutch problems

Ok so about two weeks ago my clutch started making a funny noise. It sounds like a creek followed by a squeal. I only hear this as it is engaging. My clutch has not been replaced since before i got the car alittle over 2 years ago (20,000 miles ago). I don't know when the previous owners replaced it last. I haven't had it slip at all and don't know what the signs are of a bad clutch. It will grind going into 2nd gear if i shift at a higher rpm, such as 5,500 6,500, but not if i do a slower shift. Any thoughts?

as for the grinding I would change your tranny fluid unless you know for sure when it was done. very often that fixes any grinding problems. You could try to add some more fluid to the clutch and then bleed it. It should disengage/engage in the first 3/4"-1" of travel, if its not going until near the floor you need to add some fluid.

I agree with everything bnuk said, but I recommend that you spend the few extra dollars and go with Honda MTF. This is the MTF that your synchros were designed to work in, and may help alleviate some of the grinding.

The creaking and squeal is coming from the clutch, and not the clutch pedal right?

Yeah i can hear it under hood. I'm also having problems starting in first. It's like i cant pull away smooth anymore. When the clutch is engaging it makes the rpms drop down to about 750 and shake. So i will give it just alittle more gas and it will grab at about 2,000. I have been pulling away at about 1,000 to 1,500.

Go ahead and check/bleed your system like bnuk said. If you still have the problems after that, then it's starting to sound like you'll need a new clutch.
