90 Integra head options?
Hi all,
new guy to the forums and Honda world, so take it easy.
Neighbor is selling his 90 Acura Integra GS w/ 160k, timing belt broke when he came to a stop sign. Valves are most likely shot = head is junk. He is offering it to me for $600, good body and glass, new tires and brakes... excepts its an automatic. Does this price sound ok to you guys...?
What are my options if i would buy it? It has a B18a1 engine in there, so far I was unable to locate a used head locally... I found a b16 head from a 89 Integra LS, but not sure if would fit. What are my options, I dont want to spend more then 300-400 in parts, and dont have the time or tools to do an engine swap...
let me now,
Leon

If the price sounds good to you then get it. I just bought a slightly rusty 90 Teg with an automatic that was in a front end collision for $500. It had some new parts on it and I have the body panels to fix it, so the price was right for me.
You can always take off the head and see what valves hit and just replace those, then put it back together. Since it broke at a stop sign, the head shouldn't be too bad.
