Default BODY JOB advice - includes pics!

I own an Acura Integra 92, 4-door, with only 100 Miles (160 Km). I love the car and would like to keep it for as long as possible, the insides are all in great condition the only problem is that the winters here have been tough on it and the rust has started to spread on the body (see pics below). A friend of the family who has a lot of experience in body repair has offered to do a full body job for only $1800 ($2000 Canadian). But I heard from another body shop that even after doing a complete job there’s no guarantee that the rust wont come back within months. What do you think, is this a lost cause? Your advice is greatly appreciated. Here are some pics. THANKS!

With a GOOD body shop, that's not true.

And does your car really have only 100 miles? :squint:

If the rust is covered up it can come back and spread. Rust is cancer to a car. If the metal that is contaminated is replaced then you should be good to go and it should last for a long time.

It is pretty tough to get rid of pittings corrosion even after a complete body work. Unless you can grind down the area to complete bare metal without seeing any pitting, it is visually tough to see the extent of the damage. The corrosion may have spread beyond repairable state, which will require new sheetmetal for that area. Eventually, it will come back, but it it probably won't be for a long time depending on the quality of workmanship.
