I need help getting my hood unlatched. last time I couldn't close my hood because the cable was not resetting itself. Any other way to open the hood?

Well just an idea. My friend has a crx and we would have someone hold the hood release while someone push and pulled on the hood. Other than that i don't know.

Now I did it... The cable came out even more. I don't think its connected to the latch anymore. If i were to take off the fender well, will I have access to the realese cable?

When my Civic's cable broke a couple of years ago I had to squeeze my arm up into the space by the latch and pull on the cable to release the latch. Not fun. If I remember correctly I had to try to get a tool up in there to hold the cable but not cut it so it could be pulled towards the left. Since I haven't worked on an Integra yet (couple days till I get mine)-Can you take off the front grill with the hood down?

When I did get the hood opened, I installed an old bicycle brake cable as a backup (haven't needed to use it). One end in the hood latch and the other end down by the bumper.
My cable hasn't "snapped back" for years and no matter how much oil I put in there would bring it back, so I've been used to pushing the cable to the right with my finger tip before I close the hood. Do you have a replacement cable already?

I tried sticking my hand thru an opening but there is a plastic cover in the way.

Try to get ahold of the hood cable next to the latch. You don't have get to the internals. If you can at least grab the cable where it is held on the latch bracket, you can break it loose from the holder and pull back.

Well, having the front bumper off would help, lol but it kinda can't come off since the hood is stuck shut.

Did you try from underneath? You might be able to reach it that way and pop it open with something..

I'm really guessing here.
