But the YS1 (92-93 GSR) tranny is the best tranny you can get for the 2nd gens. I would highly recommend it, but it'll cost you. Those suckers are hard to find and when you do they'll cost a lot. But yeah get it. :thumbup:

 

All '92-'93 Integras have a YS1. Here are the GSR vs. non-GSR YS1 ratios (according to http://ff-squad.com/Bgears.htm):

1st - 3.307; 3.230
2nd - 2.105; 1.900
3rd - 1.459; 1.269
4th - 1.107; 0.966
5th - 0.875; 0.742
FD - 4.400; 4.266

I had a '92 GSR...cruising on the highway in 5th um, shall we say, takes some getting used to. 80 mph is 4600 RPM.

Just keep your LS tranny. The couple of tenths you might gain from switching to a GSR tranny could be bought for less money than an entire transmission.

Incidentally, the JDM S1 and J1 cable transmissions have identical gearing to the later hydraulic Type-R transmission, just with no LSD. They're from the '90-'91 JDM Integra RSi and XSi. However the '90-'91 transmissions use a smaller clutch. If you want both short (although not "ITR spec" or whatever) gearing and factory LSD, the YS1 that was in the '92-'93 JDM Integra RSi and XSi has the same gearing as the '92-'93 GSR and an optional LSD.

Still, stick with the tranny you got and work on other things.

 

It wont be a problem for me to switch from cable to hydraulic; I know a mechanic who will do the entire cable/hydraulic swap for 200 $

But I see what you are saying.....I guess it all depends on how badly I want those extra tenths of a second........
