My 99 gsr is fucken wierd i need to advice. sometimes vtec would not kick in and sometimes it kick it late. My vtec would kick in at 5500 rpm and i love it when it does. But lately its been kicking on later than 5500 rpm. Some time it would kick in at 6 or even 7k rpm. What would be the problem?

 

First I want to ask you, why you are revving so high?

you check for vacuum leaks? oil filled up? oil pressure?

 

are you sure you're not mistaking the secondaries for vtec?

nothing wrong with that. stock redline is 8000.
