Default New O2 sensor, generic or expensive

i got a 94 GSR and my gas mileage went downt he drain...i recently did a tuneup and installed exhasut and a testpipe, but had some trouble with the testpipe and im afraid i may have jacked up the O2 sensor....now, ive seen new O2 sensors through honda for like 300, and cheap ones for like 30, NTK has a O2 for like 50 or 60 i believe, now the question being is that NTK one gonna do the job for my car or is it imperative to replace with OEM and waste all that money? ...thanx in advance

The aftermarket units are generally modeled exactly after the OEM ones, and half the time the quality is better. BTW do you have a check engine light on? I wouldn't start replacing stuff (especially expensive stuff) if you don't have a CEL. If your O2 sensors are bad it would definitely set the CEL off.

I think i have a brand new 02 sensor laying around. It's OEM, let me know if you want it. I don't feel like finding it right now, but I'm pretty sure I have it somewhere tho.

go to your friendly neighborhood autozone or whatever, and pick up the cheap bosch for 35 bucks. Itll go at least a few years. mabee not the problem though, thats why I suggest the cheap one. My engine light used to come on 5-6 times a week, but the code came up fuel mixture too lean, and was sometimes blowing straight unburnt gas from the exhaust. the oxygen sensor monitors the amount of unburnt fuel vapors coming from exhaust, telling the fuel system to deliver more or less fuel.A fuel injector code could mean a different problem.

yeah it sounds like the O2 sensor to me. I have a 90 LS and it only has one O2 sensor. I replaced mine with a Bosch $20 universal a while ago. Hesitation went away and intermittent CELs did too. I wasn't getting poor gas mileage though.
