Default need some advice guys

Okay so last weekend wasnt so good for me. My db1 caught on fire last sunday near the gas tank just out of the blue, and i lost everything except the front part of the car, everything else is burned to a crisp. Only thing is that my insurance wont cover the car fire. So i'm just wondering how i should get some money out of my car as far as selling things that are still in tact.

list of parts i have installed:

B&M short shifter
type R shift knob
short gear s1 tranny (50,000miles)
b16a engine (50,000miles)
new exhaust parts
and my front rims are in decent shape with brand new tires (17x7 BSA rims)
tires- 205 40 R17 (mint condition)

basically eveything from the mid car back is toast. I'm really still in shcok that it caught on fire spontaneously like that. Any help would be awesome.

Ps. not trying to whine about it, just need some money out of my car
should i part it out or sell the car as is??

Sorry to hear about your car man, it's strange for it to just go up in flames like that for no reason. There probably something happening that you missed or ignored.

Hopefully an MOD will move this to the classifieds section so you'll be able to sell/part out your car better.

Since there are some questions that go beyond the usual classified ad... just start a new thread in Parts Classifieds.

I have a suggestion though...

If the ECU and engine harness are in good shape, I would just pick up a DA9 with a blown motor and swap the drivetrain over. That way you don't take a loss by selling your salvageable parts.

My condolences.

i couldnt afford comprehensive at the time, and i guess me driving down the road and having my car catch fire means nothin to them. It just totally blows my mind how it could happen, all the years i have worked on cars i have never heard of a Teg catching on fire let alone it happening to me!?! Anyone in Ontario thats got a cheap DA for sale let me know about it.
