Rather than buy your parts at random, I would suggest that you form a plan about the big picture and what you ulitimately plan to acheive with the car.

If all you want is a sportier sound and about 5-7hp, than the minor bolt-on mods will suit you fine. But if you're shooting for 300whp, those entry-level mods aren't worth your time.

Also, read the FAQ... we've got a large index of useful threads to help you plan a budget.

Ok, well then you're going the NA route.

Comptech header
magnaflow high flow cat
Comptech ice box
Greddy SP2 or Apexi WS2 if you want really quiet.

This is what you want power-wise according to your goal.

ok, well my original plan was to get a Greddy Evo2 cat-back. I was still deciding on which kinds of intake and headers

Congrats on your 98 Gsr. What color, leather or cloth , miles & most important have your timing belt, water pump etc been changed. If not do that first then your suspension, bolt ons, good tires/brakes. For exhaust I don't have one myself at present time but I'd go for the Apexi WS 2 or also look into a Thermal Research exhaust. Stainless steel throughout & no ricey sound & besides that's what I have on my EF hatch & love it. Had it 4 yrs.
Hope I could help, Post pictures
