Default narrowing it down

Okay, on my automatic 92 integra RS.. it rained recently and I just so happened to get stuck driving home in it.. Since then my acura makes a lovely GRINDING noise.. sounds as if my brake pads are non existant.. But they are.. It happens in park, and in drive, and gets louder with acceleration.. In fact it all I can hear when I start the car. Also smelled something along the lines of burning plastic with white smoke smelling of burning plastic. I believe it may be a pulley of some sort.. Any ideas on what needs to be done/replaced ? I am going to do my alternator soon, so should I just replace all the belts and pulleys ? and what the hell could be burning down there ??

i would take the plastic off of the timing belt and see if it is rubbing. i had this happen in a 96 ls and eventually the belt broke.

well the noise is not coming from that part of the motor, it is more toward the ground. It is not timing
