im looking at buying a new head for my gsr and i was wondering is pr3-2 a b16 head?

The PR3 casting is used for both the B16 and ITR head. Unless ITR or B18C5 is specified, I would assume it to be a B16 head.

Whats wrong with the one you have?

basically im just lookin to upgrade. he said it was a type r head, but i noticed it was stamped pr3-2. are there any other distiguishing marks that could help identify?

If you want to upgrade, port your stock GSR head. Your compression will lower with the B16/ITR head.

thats an option that ive thought over a bit...but the down time isnt a luxury that i have. porting takes time and a head swap can be done in a few hours.

Well a B16 head isn't an upgrade...and ITR heads are overpriced. You should get a bare GSR head, and get it ported and throw new internals into it...if you want a built head. More cost effective, and better performance.
