Default Best Performing Stock ECU

I have a 1993 Integra GS 5 speed with an OBD1 part # 37820-PR4-A11.

Is there a stock ECU I can get to increase performance and if so what will I gain?

Stock ecu's for tegs aren't made for "performance". If you want an increase in performance start first with the obvious i/h/e. I've never touched a performance "chipped" ecu but I would assume you'd need some tuning after the upgrade cause your car isn't made to run the way your trying to make it run without some kind of adjustments.

No... there are no OEM ECUs that will give you any performance boost.

Furthermore, the OEM ECU doesn't become a bottleneck until you're well past the standard bolt-on upgrades.

Thanks for the info. The Car is circle track race car and I'm looking for ways to get more power and a little higher rev limit. Otherwise I need a 2 1/2 second gear.

What all can I do to the ECU and can you recommend a manufacturer for the upgrades?

I'll say it again... unless you have made comprehensive upgrades to the motor... there is nothing to be found in replacing your OEM ECU.

Now you say this is a circle track car? :eh:
Is this a stock car class, modified or what?
What can you do to the car without being bumped into a higher category of cars?

We can't do anything detectable by looking.

So a higher final drive would be kosher?

You've got a 4.26 final drive now.

Swapping in the 4.400 final gear from a GSR transmission would be one way to raise engine RPM at a given speed.

What's your average speed per lap? 45mph? 65mph?

Average speed is around 55 and top end around 70-75 depending on the track condition but i'm hitting the rev limit half way down the straight. I'm going to run a little taller tire to get it off the rev limit for opening night the 17th.

I bought a chip set and stock OBD1 PR4 ECU last night to modify the rev limit to 8500 although I will never get it over 7000. This may take care of the limit issue.

My engine builder is installing the good vtec intake valve double spring set and a full set of titanium valves.

Can you recommend a bolt-on Fuel Pressure Regulator (reasonably priced)?

Oh and we have a fully locked up diff which will stop the single tire spin in the corners and launch the car into the straight better.
